Elizabeth Wilkinson-Stokes Scholarship
We want to help encourage the participation of women and girls in the sport of boxing, so, in honor of rad women everywhere, we present the Elizabeth Wilkinson-Stokes Scholarship.
Elizabeth Wilkinson was an 18th Century, English bare-knuckle boxer. She is among the earliest recorded female boxers, and one of the most celebrated fighters of her generation.
This scholarship will sponsor an underfunded girl between the ages of 12 and 17, provided they show proof of financial need through a current OHP or equivalent need-based state health insurance card like Care Oregon. The youth boxer will receive a 10-class punch card, valued at $150. The youth must attend a minimum of 2 classes per month to maintain the scholarship. If the youth boxer proves dedicated and comes frequently, the scholarship will be converted to an unlimited monthly membership. The scholarship will expire at the end of 6 months. At that time, the youth boxer may reapply for the scholarship.
